Well, based on the cover for my video review above, I guess there’s really no way to try to surprise you with whether or not I like this cereal.

This was, hands down, the worst cereal I have ever tried. Trust me, I’ve tried over 20 different protein cereals, and this is easily at the bottom of the list.

The flavor is truly something I cannot describe, but I’ll give it my best shot…

Snack House Keto Cereal “Fruity Rubbles”

Snack house keto cereal

I had been eyeing this keto cereal on Amazon for a long time, but I was never able to bring myself to buy it due to the insane price tag.

Keto/protein cereal is always expensive, but even on the high end, that usually means around $10 per box.

Well, Snack House Keto Cereal is $15 per bag on Amazon, and each bag has only 7 servings! Not only that, but the serving sizes are even smaller than most cereal out there…

If you look at the weight measurement, each serving of Snack House cereal is 27g. Most cereals will be around 40g per serving, meaning you’re getting even less with Snack House.

To be fair, the nutrition facts are overall pretty impressive. 115 calories with 15g of protein is definitely a great ratio of calories to protein, especially compared to other options out there.

When I was looking at the nutrition facts, I noticed that pretty much all of the carbs come from Allulose (a sugar substitute) which gave me some hesitation. Considering how distinct the artificial sweetener flavor can be, the fact that those are the only carb source in this cereal made me nervous.

Turns out that I had every reason to be nervous.

When I tasted this “fruity rubbles” cereal, it was unlike anything I’ve ever eaten before.

Not in a good way, either.

Since it’s hard to put into words, I highly suggest you check out my video review to see exactly how it went.

The best way I can describe this cereal is that it tastes like pure chemicals, but somehow turned into a crunchy puff. Yes, this cereal is very crunchy, but that means nothing if it doesn’t actually taste good.

The artificial/chemical flavor was so strong that I couldn’t even taste any actual flavor. Is there a fruity component to this cereal? I have absolutely no idea. All I could taste was the extremely bitter artificial flavor.

I’ve tried hundreds of protein snacks out there (hence why I started this website), so I’m no stranger to artificial sweeteners or “fake” flavors.

But this Snack House cereal is so artificial tasting that it was truly inedible. I’ve never tried lighter fluid, but I’d imagine that the taste of this cereal is pretty similar.

It’s extremely rare that I come across a protein snack that I can’t finish and that I hate with every fiber of my being, but here we are.

Somehow, if you look at reviews on their website and on Amazon, they are mostly positive. I have to imagine that they’re all fake reviews because there is no way anybody could enjoy this cereal.

If it wasn’t $15 per bag, I’d tell you to try it for yourself to see if I’m being crazy… but I can’t do that to you.

I tried it for you so you don’t have to.

Updated Review: Trying Additional Products

Since doing my initial review, Snack House actually reached out to me to have me try their other flavors.

They found the review humorous (luckily) and said that they were confident I would enjoy the other flavors much more.

As a company, I definitely give them some bonus points for finding the humor in such a negative review, and I’ll happily update my review if the other flavors are better. Rather than go into extreme details on every single product, I’ll give you a quick summary of each one I tried…

Keto Puffs: They taste very much like any other protein puffs out there, but the Flamin’ Hot flavor was actually very pleasant. Not super hot, but actually a pretty good snack.

The Cheeseburger flavor was very strange, though. It’s not disgusting, and kind of does resemble cheeseburgers (it mostly tastes like ketchup and cheese), but it is far too salty for my enjoyment.

Chocolate Puffs Cereal: Has that same chemical flavor that the fruity cereal has, which I reeeeeally do not enjoy. The chocolate in this one masks that chemical flavor a bit, so it doesn’t hurt the same way the fruity flavor does, but it has a very strong aftertaste that makes me want to stay far away from this cereal.

PB Cup Cereal: The peanut butter flavor is surprisingly decent in this one. Compared to other protein cereal on the market, I don’t think it comes close, but that chemical flavor is far more subtle with this flavor.

Wild Berry Cereal: A very strong berry flavor off the bat, but that chemical aftertaste is still very much present and enough to deter me from eating this one.

Trying these cereals with milk actually does help to eliminate that chemical aftertaste a bit, but the flavor of the cereal almost completely disappears in milk.

Overall, these products are not nearly as bad as the original flavor I tried, but still not ones that I would be running out to buy.

If you had to buy any Snack House product, I would stick with the Keto Puffs and not the cereal, but to each their own.

Summary
These keto puffs have a really strong chemical flavor that I just cannot bring myself to enjoy. Some flavors are actually decent, but as a whole, this is just not for me.
